The time of year that mother nature shows her colors a beautiful scenic landscape view of the snowcapped Colorado Rocky Mountains in full autumn golden colorful fall foliage. Glorious beautiful autumn weather with blue sky above covered in colorful high country golden aspen trees looking up to the heavens, well at least I feel like I am in heaven. A snowy Colorado scenic landscape of a fresh dusting of snow in the high country of the Rocky Mountains in Summit County and colorful fall foliage with an early morning moody weather sky. Independence Pass is a high mountain pass in the Rocky Mountains of central Colorado in the United States. It is at elevation 12,095 ft (3,687 m) on the Continental Divide in the Sawatch Range. The pass is midway between Aspen and Twin Lakes, on the border between Pitkin and Lake counties. A nice good snow storm with the colors of early October autumn in the Rocky Mountain high country. This is the very first image shot and out of my camera from my Autumn 2013 trip that started with a scary early morning drive over the pass and through the tunnel on I-70 and then south to Leadville. The snow was beautiful with the colors but the driving in it was not so fun. Anything can happen this time of year in the Rockies. |
