So here we are on the double yellow lines, with a little light painting to light them up. When that say isolated thunderstorms you can see how this one is “isolated”, with star trails above and around the thunderhead.

A Colorado lightning thunderstorm cell with lightning striking and mean looking clouds. Lightning is caused by an electrical charge in the atmosphere that is unbalanced. The movement of rain and ice inside a thundercloud creates an electrical charge, with the negative charge (electrons) forming at the bottom of the cloud and the positive charge (protons) forming at the top. One of the last shots out of this storm chase and lightning photo session. The rain came in and I hung on as long as I could when I got this image. Water started hitting the lens as you can tell from this image. A Colorado spring thunderstorm striking in the late night above a red barn on a farm and what a beautiful sight. This is another one my first storm chase of the 2014 season and what a great show. It was a great night of many images to be had of this beautiful thunderstorm landscape, as you can tell from recent post. There is not a better place to watch a thunderstorm with lightning striking and putting on a show then from the open space of a farm. A very active spring storm striking above this cool barn out in the agriculture plains north east of Longmont Colorado. One of my most favorite places to watch and shoot a storm. It is almost like these trees have a front row seat watching this storm as lightning strikes and dances in front of them during this beautiful Colorado thunderstorm on the country plains. A very active night that got me out of bed and out the door to this location. It is so nice when a plan comes together, as from my bedroom window I could see it hitting up in this area. Spring season thunderstorm lightning striking in the late night as this country red barn on this farm North East of Longmont Colorado, in Weld County, south of the town of Meade. It was a great night of watching mother nature put on a fantastic show. great start to the storm season! |
