So here we are on the double yellow lines, with a little light painting to light them up. When that say isolated thunderstorms you can see how this one is “isolated”, with star trails above and around the thunderhead. Into the future of the end of a storm chase. Hoping to get a shot of lightning bolts in the sky with this image and had no luck, then the storms died. Colorado I-25 with an emergency vehicle behind the tree as 18 wheelers would pass the whole truck would light up with colors making for great light trails, there is a tow truck on the left. Hoping to get a shot of spectacular lightning bolts in the sky in this image with no luck, to my demise the storms died. Well here it is without, a long exposure, two roads and a white fence. Started this storm chase from the edge of north east Boulder County where I like to sit and watch things develop, then decide what direction to run to. As I saw it starting to hit I decided to hit one of my favorite spots on highway 36 between Boulder Colorado and Lyons. Thunderstorm on the Boulder County Plains Panorama – Lightning thunderstorm with cloud to ground lightning striking out on the plains of North Boulder County, Colorado. Colorado is such a great place for Stargazing, this is a view of Longs Peak in the distance and a sky filled with stars. A Stargazers dream! There are so many great place to watch the sky light up. This is one of my favorites views off of Peak to Peak Highway.
