Two lightning bolts from this fast moving thunderstorm raining down next to an oil well pump jack. Last of the 2014 super moons, the harvest full moon was on the 8th, we had cloudy skies with no views. This is the 9th the day after the full moon known as Waning Gibbous, with a scenic view of downtown Denver Colorado. There was a brown haze as well as cloudy skies, this is the view looking east from Lookout Mountain on the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Golden Colorado. Inter-cloud and cloud to cloud lightning thunderstorm with a beautiful sky above a country lake north east of Longmont and Boulder County. Lightning bolts were really striking and hitting the ground in Ft Collins. We are on the south side of this storm. Lightning is a case of an electric arc between one cloud and the earth or another cloud, as are sparks caused by discharges of static electricity.
